| KIM and ATP organize two training courses in technology transfer |

‘Fundamentals of technology transfer’ and ‘Creating successful spin-outs’, two sessions to improve these business processes.
KIM and the Association of Science and Technology Transfer Professionals (ASTP) will organize on September 14, 15 and 16 two training courses about technology transfer geared to all the industry related to the sector at European level.
The first course, ‘Fundamentals of technology transfer’, is addressed to professionals recently incorporated into the sector wanting to receive more training to face possible difficulties and to be ready for any inconvenience. The course will analyze carefully the basic processes of technology transfer, including the new technologies at universities, the patents processes, how to know what industry needs, the marketing techniques development, the intellectual property laws and how to negotiate and structure the licenses.
On the other hand, the course ‘Creating successful spin-outs’ is specially thought for technology transfer managers and experts, whose experience could be used to set up a spin-out company. In this session attendees will know the best ways of commercializing technologies and the most suitable business strategies to create start-ups, as well as the cooperation connections with academic and public institutions. The course will also include the analysis of study cases and the participation in role play activities managed by well known professionals.
This new proposal of KIM and ASTP is a new activity to improve the professionalization and promotion of the knowledge and technology transfer between the scientific base and the European industry, facilitating the ideas and experience exchange and strengthening the companies and entities network in this field. |
